Total transformation of a two bedroom duplex flat into a unique space exposing the rawness of the building fabric. The existing first floor kitchen and reception room were opened to form one space, specific walls were stripped of modern finishes to reveal the brickwork, timber and the more recent structural elements of steel and concrete. Original floors were stripped, glazing upgraded within existing overhauled sashes, floors insulated, property rewired and new heating system installed with stylish column radiators. The bathroom floors were lifted and fitted to the ceiling the floor being newly boarded topped with electric UFH with a levelling compound finish to give the appearance of concrete. The existing bedrooms were reconfigured to build in storage space to create a Studio and Master bedroom.
Overview of amenities: Original floor boards lightly rubbed back and treated with Osmo oil, existing structural steel exposed and coated with red oxide paint, Client’s own supply of Ash from Somerset used to build a bespoke kitchen and a pair of sliding doors into a solid Ash post, commercial surface mounted electrical conduits to exposed brick work, in ceiling speakers, data cabling and overhead provisions for electrical film projection screen, security system.
